Celebrating Over 10 Years With Stampin' Up!

Hello Crafter's,

Hope you are keeping safe and well.

My lovely online Michelle Last has been doing a little series on her blog about all her download demo's who have been Celebrating 10 years of more with Stampin' Up!

This is my story:

Celebrating over 10 years with Stampin’ Up!

Each day this week I am sharing a team member who has celebrated being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in my Pinkies team for 10 years or more. I am so fortunate to have welcomed so many wonderful people to my team over my 13 years as a demo and it is my pleasure to highlight just a few of them with you this week.

Today I am sharing our wonderful Sandie Brain with you. Sandie is an absolute hoot and I will never forget the first phone call I had with her over 10 years ago.

I answered the phone to be asked by a lady if I sold the Summer by the Sea stamp set. Unfortunately that was way back when we did not have the same catalogues as the US and some of the stamps available in the US were not available here. I said that I was sorry but that I did not. I could sense she was ready to hang up so I asked if she’s like a catalogue to see the stamps we did sell and she said ‘no thanks, I was only looking for that set’.

Well she did call me back and request a catalogue and even came along to my card making classes. I guess the fact that she has been a demo for 10 years means she has gone on to purchase more than the Summer by the Sea yet!

Sandie is a Bronze Elite demo with a team of 2 and is working harder than ever to build her business, despite these difficult times we find ourself in. Let’s hear from Sandie about her unique journey with Stampin’ Up!

TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOU SANDIE

I was born and rasied in Wolverhampton.  I moved to Middlesex in 1995 and after several jobs and moves, I got a job at High Wycombe where I live in the week, but at weekends I go back to the family home in Wolverhampton. I live there with my partner Paul. I lost my Mom to cancer in 2007, my sister to cancer 2017 and my Dad to old age in 2018.  My partner Paul was my rock and still is.  I have been a crafter and card making for many years before joining Stampin’ Up!.  I knit, crochet, sew, and more importantly make cards which I make and sell for charities.  I run a monthly card class and a monthly coffee and card class.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT BEING A DEMO?

I love the friends you make, the ideas that we all share and being able to share my passion for Stampin’ Up!  products and the way they match from inks, card and designer series paper.  I love seeing the catalogue and new products before anyone else and I love the discounts.  There is a lot of loving with Stampin’ Up!

WHY DID YOU JOIN?

Because I have a friend called  Michelle Last and I used to go to her classes, and she worn me down! No seriously I love the people like Michelle, Lynne, Jenny and Nicole to name but a few, oh and the products lol

WHAT DOES YOUR BUSINESS LOOK LIKE?

I am my own best customer, i have had a few customers but with a demanding full time job I really don’t have much time to give my business the time it deserves

YOUR BEST MEMORY OF THE LAST 10 YEARS?

The support the Pinkies gave when I was in my darkness moments.  Ohh and Conventions.

ONE PIECE OF ADVICE TO ANYONE CONSIDERING BUYING THE STARTER KIT?

Do not go for the highest price item, buy what you love and will use again and again and again.  If you love it you will make lots of items with it.

This photo was taken at the Eurostar terminal when we were heading out to Brussels to a Stampin’ Up! event. You can see that we really don’t like each other based on how close we all are can’t you :). Honestly some of my absolute faves in this photo and such a great event!

Thanks for always making me laugh with your dry sense of humour Sandie. It has been an absolute pleasure to get to know you and call you a friend. It has been a roller coaster of a ride for you personally over the last 10 years but to see you so happy with Paul is simply wonderful!

So if you don’t know Sandie, why not go and check out her blog and her social links and I know she would love to see you.
